Who we’re looking for
The estimator we’re looking for must have experience in the demolition and recycling of commercial, residential and public works properties. The chosen candidate will be experienced estimator who can make significant contributions to help grow our firm profitably, participate in the mentoring and motivation of other team members; supervise the estimating and bidding process for their portion of the work; play a significant role when negotiating with agencies, owners and their representatives; enhance the development of our existing policies and procedures; teach the younger staff estimating and project management techniques and who can use our extensive costing system to analyze various factors affecting price and profitability; ensure compliance with all contract-related regulations; and participate with the Chief Estimator and other senior management in the planning and budgeting processes.
Critically important to the role of estimator at FERMA is to keep the Chief Estimator and Senior Project Managers informed of all significant or key contract matters, and to become an integral part of the FERMA team.
The ideal candidate must have considerable experience working with other demolition contractors; prove they understand the key benchmarks for success bringing the full breadth of technical and personal skills in demolition construction methods to the firm. This person MUST have experiences with; contract administration, project performance [software systems]; create and manage appropriate work-break-down structures [WBS]; assist in the preparation of cost estimates to complete the analysis of WIP schedules; foster a cooperative team-oriented work environment; be an analytically strategic thinker; have a degree in construction management or other equivalent [a P.E. is highly desirable]; and / or substitute a college degree with a minimum of 7 years experience in the demolition construction industry. Good common sense, a strong work ethic, self-motivation, a high level of integrity and excellent communication skills are required to be considered in this team-oriented culture.
